Anna Grace Causey

Anna Grace Causey is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Administration at the L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs and recently graduated from the University of Richmond with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Philosophy, Politics, Economics, and Law (PPEL), with a concentration in Political Science and a minor in Sociology.

In 2022, Causey was awarded a research grant from the University of Richmond to study sex trafficking patterns in Richmond, Virginia. Committed to advancing social justice and effective policy, Causey has also conducted qualitative research with grassroots movements and human rights organizations in Nepal, Jordan, and Chile. This work provided a cross-comparative analysis of women’s reproductive health across the three countries. Capstone research focused on analyzing and prescribing policy solutions to address kleptocracy and corruption within the Nepalese government.

Over the past year, Causey served as Administrative Assistant to the House Appropriations Committee in the Virginia General Assembly, where experience was gained in understanding the development and feasibility of public policy through the budgetary process. Currently, Causey is contributing to the Legislative Equity Review dashboard through the Research Institute for Social Equity.

Causey is a Fellow of the Wilder Graduate Scholars Fellowship, a competitive program that places top full-time master’s students with host employers across the Richmond region.
