Emily Schreer is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning at Virginia Commonwealth University. Schreer earned a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies from American University, with a minor in Public Health.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Schreer served for two years as a CDC fellow with the Richmond City Health District, focusing on pandemic response and maternal and child health. Following that role, Schreer joined the Virginia Department of Health, working in viral hepatitis prevention and harm reduction.
Schreer’s professional and academic experiences have shaped a strong commitment to health equity, climate resilience, and community building.
Schreer is a Fellow of the Wilder Graduate Scholars Fellowship, a competitive program that places top full-time master’s students with host employers across the Richmond region.
