Addie Namboodri

Addie Namboodrifrom Cary, North Carolina, is pursuing a Master of Criminal Justice and a Certification in Gender Violence Intervention. After graduating from the North Carolina School of Science and Math, Namboodri earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Health and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Tulane University as a Stamps Scholar. Namboodri’s plans after graduation include working in policy research, with particular interests in interpersonal violence, gender violence, misuse of power by those in positions of authority, and marijuana policies.

Throughout high school and undergraduate studies, Namboodri worked as a research intern at RTI International, contributing to projects on topics such as patient-centered care, tobacco research, and pre-exposure prophylaxis. Additionally, while employed at Tulane University’s IT Department, Namboodri earned certification as a Microsoft Certified Power BI Data Analyst Associate.

Namboodri is a Fellow of the Wilder Graduate Scholars Fellowship, a competitive program that places top full-time master’s students with host employers across the Richmond region. Namboodri is excited to be a part of the Wilder Fellows program, which provides them the opportunity to work with the Virginia State Crime Commission to further explore interest in policy research and gain valuable connections.
