
Jennifer J. Reid, PhD, serves as the Evaluation Director at the L. Douglas Wilder School of Government & Public Affairs' Center for Public Policy. Holding a PhD in Applied Developmental Psychology obtained in 2013, Reid has over 30 years of experience in research and evaluation within academic settings. Previous roles include Director of Evaluation and Senior Project Director at the Survey and Evaluation Research Laboratory, as well as adjunct faculty within VCU’s Department of Psychology.
Reid possesses extensive expertise in all aspects of survey research, evaluation, and analysis, utilizing both qualitative and quantitative methods. Reid has also contributed to the creation, adaptation, and facilitation of various intervention and prevention programs for youth and adults. Throughout this work, Reid has had the opportunity to collaborate with diverse populations across the state of Virginia.
A key strength of Reid’s lies in fostering effective collaborations to develop high-quality research and evaluation plans across a broad range of topics, always adhering to best practices and federal, state, and university regulations. Reid advocates for a mixed-methods approach, believing it leads to more insightful and comprehensive outcomes, and applies a holistic, ecological systems lens to research and evaluation design.
Reid has partnered with nonprofit, state, and university-based organizations as both an internal and external evaluator. To enhance evaluation practice, Reid holds an associated coaching certification from the International Coaching Federation. Reid has been a member of the American Evaluation Association since 2013 and the International Coaching Federation since 2020.
