
Sean McCandless, PhD, works as an equity consultant with expertise in assessment methods, data communication, legal compliance, and both quantitative and qualitative equity analysis. McCandless is the Associate Director of the Doctorate in Public Administration program at the University of Illinois Springfield. Research conducted by McCandless centers on understanding how accountability for social equity is achieved—specifically, how public services can become fairer in terms of access, processes, quality, and outcomes.
McCandless is co-editor of the book Achieving Social Equity: From Problems to Solutions, alongside Dr. Mary E. Guy, and is also a co-founder of the Journal of Social Equity and Public Administration with Dr. S.T. Gooden and Dr. R.G. Johnson III.
