Yali Pang, PhD, works as the Senior Research Associate at RISE. Areas of expertise include nonprofit management, social equity, and program evaluation. Research conducted by Pang focuses on the impacts of intersecting cultural identities—such as race, gender, disability, and country of origin—among minority populations. This work explores how oppression and discrimination can manifest in service provision and how leadership influences equity in program outcomes. Pang’s research has been published in several academic journals, including Disability & Society and Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Quarterly.
Prior to joining RISE, Pang worked at the Partnership for People with Disabilities, leading research and evaluation on cultural brokering interventions for culturally diverse families of children with disabilities. Additional experience includes serving as a project consultant for the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and as an adjunct professor in the Department of Political Science at Virginia Commonwealth University. Pang earned a PhD in Public Policy and Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University and holds a Master of Science in Corporate Management from Southwest University in China.
